I can’t believe summer is over. Ok, I know that summer isn’t REALLY over until September 21st, but can we all agree that Labor Day Weekend is the unofficial end of summer. The mornings are already getting a little colder, and before you know it the leaves will start changing.

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale opened to the public on Friday, and if you’re like me this was your first chance to shop it. The first week of the sale was shoppable only by Nordstrom credit card holders. After seeing what was available, I can tell you I will definitely have a Nordstrom Card by next year’s sale.

Last June I wrote a post on five areas of your style in which you can save money. So, I figured this June I would touch on the five times where I recommend splurging. I don’t think that price necessarily equates to quality. However, I do believe that in these five areas, when you bump your budget a bit, the return value justifies the purchase price.
Weekend Reading
It’s been a pretty mild week. I watched a terrible movie. Soap Commander re-opened for business (Congrats!). It rained too much. I think the most exciting thing this week was that insane first lap of the Spanish Grand Prix! But other than that, not too much happened around here. I’m thankful for weeks like these. They’re few and far between, but usually much needed when they do arrive. We’re watching two family dogs this week, so that means five dogs total here, plus two kids, plus two adults. We needed an easy week to manage all that. It looks like this weekend is more of the same, so here’s a few things to get you started on a relaxing few days.
