Suitsupply Suit Review - New Online Exclusives

Suitsupply Suit Review – New Online Exclusives

Posted on July 8, 2019July 7, 2019 By Drew

* Suitsupply provided me with the suit, my opinions are my own *

Recently Suitsupply reached out to me to take a look at their new Online Exclusives. This additional line is manufactured with the same quality and fabrics as their existing blue line, but is only available online. Hence the name Online Exclusives. Suitsupply’s goal with this new line is to help guys get comfortable with buying a suit online. In order to do that, they’ve eliminated the availability of these suits in-store and lowered the price. The absence of any retail distribution and brick-and-mortar inventory lowered their costs, and Suitsupply is passing these costs onto their customers. These suits are only $359.

My job was to take one of these suits and experience the full process. I chose a light gray suit for two reasons. First we are early into summer, and I wanted a light suit that would serve me for the rest of summer and into early fall. Second, it filled a gap in my suit collection. The suit is a “Napoli” fit which features some structure and a little padding in the shoulders. This is my second “Napoli” suit. I think they fit my frame so well. When I want a bit more of a traditional suit, this is the cut I go for. The fabric of this suit is excellent for Super 110s. The wool is from Vitale Barberis Canonico, a mill in northern Italy which has been weaving fabric for over 350 years. This heritage probably explains why this is the softest Super 110s I’ve ever felt. The feel blows any other suits of the same designation I own out of the closet.

Now, I’ve already been a customer of Suitsupply, so I knew what to expect from the shipping, but the suit literally came the next day. I live close to a distribution center, and two days is usual, but most of my Suitsupply orders come to me the next day. Regardless, shipping is always very fast, and free. So are returns. Every order comes with a return label. This might not seem like a big deal living in our “on demand” world. However, as someone who orders from Europe from time-to-time, fast and free shipping and returns are a godsend.

Once I received the suit, I took it to my local Suitsupply in the King of Prussia mall. Devon Aimes and his team were excellent (as usual). If you don’t have a Suitsupply store nearby, make sure you have a good alterations tailor on-hand. This rule doesn’t just apply to Suitsupply purchases either. Having a quality tailor you can go to is someone you should always have in your back pocket. Fortunately, I have two Suitsupply stores close by.

I picked up my altered suit a few days later. I had the pants hemmed, one sleeve shortened slightly, and the jacket let out just a bit. The final fit was perfect! I even shared a few pics on my Instagram stories from the store. I’ve even already styled it two ways: once, in this post as a full suit, and also as a more casual option here.

So, what do I think? I will freely admit that I was already a Suitsupply customer prior to writing this review, but I don’t think I could find a better value than this one with as much convenience. The suit is excellent for the price (well-worth a higher price tag). With free shipping, free returns, and quality tailors in-store, it’s virtually risk-free. This is the time to buy a suit online. If you’ve never done that before, this new Online Exclusives line should compel you to consider it.
