Suitsupply Spring 2019 Pre Order Collection

My Picks from the Suitsupply Spring 2019 Pre-Order Collection

Posted on February 22, 2019February 22, 2019 By Drew

I think when I say the name “Suitsupply” people think flashy patterns, skinny suits, and ultra European style. And they are right. You can get all of those things at Suitsupply. But I’m here to tell you that you can also purchase some more traditional menswear items too. Don’t be turned away by a few flashy advertisements. However, be aware that most of Suitsupply’s cuts are a little more tailored than some other stores, so sizing can be a little tricky. I’m typically a 44R in the Brooks Brothers Regent cut, but I’m a 46R in Suitsupply’s Napoli, Havana, and Sienna cuts. I usually need the Havana to be let out just a little. Today, I wanted to take a look at the new Suitsupply Spring 2019 pre-order collection and pick out a few a my favorite items releasing later this spring. Cold weather is here now, but spring will be here soon enough.

I went to a wedding last fall wearing my navy blue Napoli suit, received so many compliments. There were guys there in more expensive suits (my Napoli was only $400), but not many had me beat on fit, proportions, and fabric. Suitsupply, is NOT fast fashion. For me, it is an ideal congruence of price and quality (i.e. you get what you pay for).

Recently, I was having a conversation online with Gabriel from The Mensch on Menswear (be sure to follow him on Instagram and Youtube) about whether I bought everything on sale on not. I described myself as a “value shopper” I try to find that best combination of price and quality. For me, the prices are Suitsupply are well worth the value of their products, plus they don’t really run sales either. So I have no qualms about pre-ordering anything because I know the quality is there, and I know I’m not going to get a better price. So I strike while the iron is hot! Additional Suitsupply offers free returns on any purchase, so everything is worth trying at home. So let’s take a look at my picks from the Suitsupply spring 2019 pre-order collection.

How to Style the Beckett Simonon Black Valencia Wholecuts

*Disclosure: Beckett Simonon provided the Valencia for this post. My opinions are my own.* There is a counterintuitive rule in menswear, which usually holds true. The less adorned something is, the more formal that piece becomes. Consider the black tuxedo, one of the most formal things a man can wear….

Merino Sweaters for Everyone!

Posted on November 21, 2014October 4, 2017

Man, I love cashmere.  It’s so warm and soft.  But let’s face it, cashmere is expensive.  Very expensive.  I’m not saying you shouldn’t own a cashmere sweater or two, but I understand it’s tough to fill your closet with a dozen.  Honestly, in my opinion, cashmere isn’t worth it unless…

On the Simple, White Sneaker

Posted on July 14, 2016November 15, 2017

On Sunday night I was picking up some takeout dinner for the family. The whole meal was F’d up because the online order never reached the restaurant, and I had to wait another forty minutes while they cooked our dinner. As annoying as that was, it gave me the time to engage on one of my favorite activities: people watching.
