I’ve been trying to get better as posting the details of my Instagram posts on the blog, but I, admittedly, have not done a great job. This is something I really want to work on for 2019. Sure, I have my Shop the Feed page and I try to share the posts on Pinterest with shoppable links. However, I really think nothing beats a good ol’ blog post when it comes to really gathering information. That’s what you’re doing, right? If you want to know what something I’m wearing is, you’re looking for information. The less hoops you need to jump through to get it, the better.
Today, I’m running over my last three outfits on Instagram and pulling the details of each together. All three seem to be pretty popular posts, which tells me that people like these outfits and probably want to know more about them. Unfortunately, I can’t always link the products to those shoppable pictures because every brand doesn’t participate in those programs. But on the blog, I can link anything I want (as long as it’s still available). And, of course always feel free to reach out with questions on social or email.
Shawl Collar Sweater with Jeans and Loafers
This sweater is a workhorse for me. I’ve owned it for years and it’s never gone out of style. Maybe that’s why J. Crew continues to make it. Shawl collars are great when the weather turns cold too. It’s like wearing a scarf without having to actually wear a scarf.

Shirt: Brooks Brothers // Shoes: Allen Edmonds
Green Sweater with Jeans and Brogues
The sweater trend continues with this incredible shaggy green sweater from Drakes. They’re almost out, but a good substitute would be the Shaggy Dog sweaters from J. Press. I get a lot of questions about this watch too. It’s not made any more, but it’s the Bulova Accutron 28C05 VX-200, and occasionally it will turn up on Amazon or eBay.
Sweater: Drake’s // Jeans: imogene + willie
Shoes: Herring Shoes (similar) // Watch: Bulova
Pea Coat with Selvedge Denim and Scarf
I looked for a long time for the perfect pea coat. Some were too traditional (I’m not a sailor!). Others had almost no collars; I wanted a little flair to mine. Still others were all style and no substance; I still needed to be warm. I finally chose the pea coat from Suitsupply and couldn’t be happier. It’s warm, stylish, and looks like a pea coat without looking like I’m shipping out in the morning.

Jeans: imogene + willie // Boots: Allen Edmonds
