Fall Wardrobe Must-haves for 2015

Posted on October 14, 2015November 9, 2017 By Drew

Fall Wardrobe Must-haves for 2015 Fall Wardrobe Must-haves for 2015

I’m a little late with my fall picks this year, but since we’re still hitting the seventies here, I figure I have time…

I love the fall.  The crispness in the air, the smell of burning leaves, the beauty of the changing foliage.  This is, without a doubt, my favorite time of year.  However, dressing during autumn can be tricky.  Winter is cold; summer is hot.  Picking clothes during those seasons is relatively easy.  However, this week, while the days are running in the seventies, the mornings and nights are getting down to the forties, and that’s the trouble.  How does one head out the door in the morning prepared for that chilly, coffee-necessary reality that summer is over, while still able to handle the warmth that’s going to come after lunch?

There are quite a few articles out there on the style and/or fashion aspect layering your clothes for fall, but the truth of the matter is that layering is incredibly practical too. In fact, layered outfits developed out of necessity, not style.  The trick is looking good when you un-layer too.  With that in mind, I’ve put together some of my favorites for this season.

Jacket: J. Crew ┃┃ Sweater: J. Crew ┃┃ Denim: J. Crew

Jacket: Barbour ┃┃ Sweater: Brooks Brothers ┃┃ Jeans: Levi’s

Socks: Woolrich ┃┃ Boots: Joe’s ┃┃ Shirt: Twillory

Here’s your daily dose of morbidity. Cable knit sweaters may have been originally developed to help identify the bodies of drowned sailors that washed up on beaches helping their families.

Weekend Dad Duties

Posted on May 7, 2019May 6, 2019

Over the past few weekends this spring I’ve been going to a lot of my kids’ activities. Birthday parties, soccer practices, soccer tryouts, lacrosse practices, lacrosse games, and on and on. One thing that has stood out to me at all of these events is how poorly dressed the dads…

The Look for Less: Dev Patel’s Navy Suit at the 2017 SAG Awards

Posted on January 31, 2017October 4, 2017

My social feeds have been filled with plenty of “Best Dressed” lists from Sunday’s Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards. Most of the lists included a lot of tuxedos, which I have no problem with. But one suit stood out for me: Dev Patel’s navy Brunello Cucinelli suit.
