Beat the Heat with a Linen Shirt or Suit

Posted on July 25, 2017July 10, 2018 By Drew

I want to wear nothing but linen shirts and linen suits all the time! I don’t remember having a hotter summer than the one we’re having right now. Linen clothes are such a great way to beat the heat, but I think guys are afraid to try wearing the loose, breathable fabric. There’s an inherent fear of looking like an extra straight off the set of Miami Vice. I totally get this fear, but I’m here to tell you linen is so much more than Mai Tais and South Beach. When done right, one can wear linen from the weekend to the workday. So this summer, take a chance, and ditch the cotton shirts for a linen shirt or suit.

Wearing Burgundy Shoes with Beckett Simonon

Posted on April 26, 2019April 29, 2019

*The burgundy shoes for this post were provided by Beckett Simonon. All thoughts are my own.* It’s a conundrum, a quandary, a problem that, while completely first-world in nature, seems to baffle most of us. What do you wear when brown shoes seem a little too casual, black shoes seem…

More Fits Than You Thought

Posted on May 13, 2015October 4, 2017

More Fits Than You Thought You may not realize this, but both Ralph Lauren and Brooks Brothers each have four fits in production for one of their signature items.  For Brooks Brothers it’s their line of dress shirts, and for Ralph Lauren it’s the polo shirt.  Yes, yes, I know…

Summer Linen 2016

Posted on June 29, 2016November 15, 2017

I struggle with the heat during summer. I always have. It’s really the only gripe I have about the season. In the winter, when I get colder, I put more clothes on. It’s a pretty simple solution. Unfortunately, in the summer, there is only so much clothing to take off when I get hot. After that, I just sit…sweltering. I’ve always seemed to run hot. Maybe it’s a result of growing up in northern Ohio. Maybe it’s genetics. Whatever the reason, summer can drain me.
