Winter Colognes for Every Budget

Winter Colognes for Every Budget
Winter Colognes for Every Budget

A few months ago, we shared our Seven Favorite Colognes for Fall.  Well, now the days are shorter and the nights are colder.  It’s time to warm things up a little with some Winter scents.  We’ve put together another list of seven great colognes, this time focusing on the coldest time of the year.  These colognes typically have dark, leathery and spicy notes that really stand out even in colder weather.  Everything mentioned in this article is available through our partner FragranceNet which has an enormous selection of colognes and perfumes.  FragranceNet is also a Google Trusted Store, so you know your purchases are protected and you have the confidence to shop without fear of getting a knockoff cologne.

1. Tom Ford Noir

As you will notice, this is the first of two Tom Ford colognes on this list.  The richness of his colognes are hard to compete with, which is why I am such a fan of almost anything he produces.  His Noir is a great combination of rose and spice capturing that warmth needed so desperately in this cold season.

2. Royall Bayrhum

Not many scents evoke the holiday season like bay rum.  The clove, spice and mint just scream Christmas and New Years.  Additionally, the Royall Bayrhum, like most bay rums, can also substitute as an aftershave too.

3. La Nuit De L’Homme by Yves Saint Laurent

Unique spices like Cardamom and Caraway bring a unique sweet and spicy blend to this cologne.  Layered with lavender and cedar, not many other colognes will entice that special someone to cozy up in front of the fire like this one will.

4. The One by Dolce and Gabbana

This smoky, woodsy blend is the perfect cologne for that black tie New Year’s Eve party or an evening in for just the two of you to watch the ball drop.  I’ve worn this cologne since it was introduced in 2008, and have only received positive comments about it.

5. Burberry London for Men

This cologne was also on our Seven Favorite Colognes for Fall, but we’re bringing it back for Winter because the tobacco, wood and leather are too perfect for Winter to not mention it again.  And for under fifty dollars, you will not be disappointed.

6. Tom Ford Our Fleur

The dark richness of rose, oud and patchouli are meant for Winter.  In fact, I wouldn’t wear this cologne any other time.  This fragrance is so deep is needs cold air to tame it.  Perfect for this time of year.

7. Creed Royal Oud

If I had to choose just one cologne producer for life, it would be Creed.  As many of you know, I love the Creed Original Vetiver and Creed Green Irish Tweed, but for Winter, only the Royal Oud will do.  The Royal Oud is so luxurious and rich, that it was almost made just for Winter.

As always we love to hear from our readers.  Please let us know any thoughts you have on these wonderful winter colognes or any cologne you wear in these colder months.  You can comment here or reach out to us on social media using Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Google+.

The Internet is chock full of sites where people review all sorts of products.  Most of these reviews end with a rating between one and ten, a number of stars and other clever ways to grade what’s being reviewed.  Over the last month or two, I have decided to stop…

A Bad Shave: What Went Wrong?

Posted on September 15, 2014November 9, 2017

OK, it wasn’t this bad, but you get the idea. This past Friday I was having a pretty stressful day.  I had shattered my iPhone 5s the night before, which happened to be the day before iPhone 6 went on pre-order.  So of course I couldn’t use my upgrade anymore….

Tuesday Shave and Groom: Geo. F. Trumper Rose Shaving Soap Review

Posted on December 9, 2014October 4, 2017

If you are a frequent reader of this blog, there are probably a few things you know about me.  I typically prefer shaving soaps over shaving creams.  I think men should experiment with more floral fragrances like they used to wear in the beginning of the twentieth century and earlier….
