The other day I stopped by Brooks Brothers to check out some of the new clothes coming in for fall 2019, and I was blown away. I mean I’m already a big fan of Brooks Brothers, but some of these new pieces are so great. What really excited me what the quality of fabrics and the branching out into some new styles like patch pockets. My biggest criticism of Brooks Brothers as of late has been some stagnation on their part. However, in the past season or two they have been putting out some truly great products.
I tried showing some of what I found on my Instagram stories, but it’s challenging without having a swipe up feature yet. So, I figured I would put together a post on what I’m loving at Brooks Brothers for fall 2019. Let me know what you think!
What I’m Loving at Brooks Brothers for Fall 2019 Part 1
Indigo Chambray Shirt: I have a couple Brooks Brothers chambray shirts. They’re great under a sport coat or under a sweater, and they also look nice on warmer days by themselves.
Cognac Tassel Loafers: I’m really big on mid-brown loafers right now (not tan), and I love this cognac color so much!
Suede Field Jacket: I would suggest acquiring a traditional field jacket first. However, after that, this suede one is a great choice for something a little dressier.
Brown Penny Loafers: A classic penny loafer, but with a rubber sole for damp fall days. Perfect for jeans with a pair of chunkier socks.
Camel Coat: It’s big, it’s pricey, but it’s amazing. Stand out from the winter crowd this year in something with a big pop.
Three Button Blazer: A 3/2 roll with patch pockets and gold buttons? Very well done, Brooks Brothers.
Multi-Plaid Suit: Another 3/2 roll, this time on a suit. This brown suit is a fantastic bridge from casual to formal, and can be dressed up or down accordingly.
Flannel Trousers: They come in brown and gray, they’re NOT stretch, and they’re perfect to pair with the Three Button Blazer.
Luxury Dress Shirt: I was disappointed in the pattern matching along the shoulders, but the fabric and buttons are incredible. I would still buy this shirt.
Merino Wool Over-the-Calf Socks: I almost only wear merino wool socks now, even in the summer. And I’m only buying OTC socks now too. They stay cool, stay up, and look great.
What I’m Loving at Brooks Brothers for Fall 2019 Part 2
Lambswool Cable Sweater: I pick up one or two of these every year. They’re almost as soft as cashmere for a much better price.
Trimmed Polos: These polos have just enough of a retro 50s vibe to get me interested.
Brushed Twill Chinos: Not into cords, but want to stay warm? Brushed twill.
Herringbone Topcoat: Another standout overcoat that will kick any suit into the next level.
Diamond Quilted Vest: I’m picking up some slimmed-down Marty McFly vibes here. These vests are a great casual layering piece.
Wide Stripe Oxford Shirt: I have a Brooks Brothers Linen shirt that looks like this, and I would love to have the same pattern to wear in the colder months.
Suede Chelsea Boots: These will go with just about any pants you wear this fall from jeans, to chinos, to cords, to flannel.
Multi-Plaid Sportcoat: This is probably my favorite thing I saw in the store. The color is a little less orange than shown in the picture, and I liked it even better in person. I took a 44R.
Butcher Stripe Dress Shirt: I love butcher stripe dress shirts. (Can you tell I’m really into wide stripes right now?) Brooks Brothers has a great collection of colors in this shirt too.
Wide Wale Corduroys: Want to wear something like chinos, but warmer? Corduroys.
