I’m really trying to figure out how many posts are actually feasible in a given week. In the perfect world that only exists in my head, I would publish five articles a week, plus a Weekend Reading on Saturdays. That doesn’t seem to be happening, and it only ends up frustrating me. There always seems to be too much going on. Like tonight, for instance. It’s 8:00 pm, and I’m just sitting down to right this now. We took the kids to a local horse show tonight for an activity. If we don’t entertain them, then they just end up destroying the house. So finding things for the kids to do has to be a priority, and I get that, but I just have to reset my expectations. I’ve also got a new iPhone 7 sitting in its box, still unopened, that I can’t wait to tear into. But first I have to do bedtime, finish this article, and get set up for tomorrow. I’m saving that new phone as a reward for finishing my work. Oh, and there’s going to be a cigar too. You’ll probably see it on Snapchat or Instagram in a little bit. I’ll sit outside, light up that cigar (maybe the Padrón 1964 Anniversary tonight), and crank through a few episodes of Deadwood. I’m on season 3, and I can’t believe I never watched this show before. Have you seen it?! It’s fantastic.
So I guess what I’m saying is that I want to put out a couple quality articles a week (I think three sounds good), but I would appreciate some feedback from you. It would mean so very much. I’d love to know what you like reading on Tailor & Barber. I’d also love to know how many times you visit T&B a week. Like, are you checking it every day to see if there’s a new post? Or do you just wait until your email subscription or RSS feed delivers it?
Well, enough of this stream-of-consciousness dribble. On to the good stuff for today’s post. Here are some of my favorite things this week:
I really enjoyed this article from Put This On about adding depth to your wardrobe.
One of the most perfect fall fragrances, even if it is a bit pricey.
I think talking to a reputable tailor is incredibly intimidating. Here are some great points on how to put yourself at ease.
Twillory’s new fall patterns are out! Here are my two favorites: End-on-End Dobby and Twillory Print.
Are you a bigger guy? Do you have trouble finding your style?
I just love these sneakers for fall!
The ladies over at Style Girlfriend do such a great job of spelling it out for us guys. Sometimes we just need a “do this, not that” approach.
Don’t forget about D.R. Harris’ underlooked shaving soap for a fall scent.
I just picked up this sport coat for fall, and I can’t wait for it to cool off a little more so I can wear it.
I haven’t tried all of these, but the ones I have tried deserve to be on Anthony’s list.
