Three St. Patrick’s Day Outfit Options

Three St. Patrick’s Day Outfit Options Three St. Patrick’s Day Outfit Options

By this time next week, many of you will be dragging yourselves through one of the most hangover heavy days of the year, the day after St. Patrick’s Day. Of course, if you have kids like me, going out for a night of heavy drinking during the week (or any night for that matter) is usually a poor decision. Managing active little people while struggling to keep your eyes focused is one of the most unpleasant things I’ve discovered as a parent. But I digress…

If you are going out next Thursday, my guess is that you would like to look good. I personally prefer to avoid the ubiquitous “Kiss Me I’m Irish” t-shirts and go for something a little more subtle and stylish. I pulled together three different outfit inspirations depending on where you’re going what you’re doing for St. Patty’s Day.

Casual

Jeans: J. Crew // Shirt: Lacoste for J. Crew // Belt: Tucker Blair

Socks: J. Crew Factory // Shoes: G. H. Bass & Co.

Sometimes jeans and a polo shirt are all you need for that casual night out look. The subtle belt and sock combination helps add that Irish charm without screaming hooligan. And I’m aware the belt is on the pricier side, but it’s worth it. My wife and my sister-in-law have each made a needlepoint belt for me, and once they were finished they swore to never do it again. These belts take a lot of time to make, and if you include the cost of adding the leather pieces, buying them is definitely the best option.

Business Casual

Pants: Bonobos // Shirt: Twillory // Belt: Kiel James Patrick for Brooks Brothers

Socks: Anonymous ISM for J. Crew // Shoes: Adidas

Ok, so this look is probably on the casual side of business casual, but if your office is ok with it, I am too. And sometimes you need to push that business casual envelope a little, just to let your inner style voice roar. I love this limited edition print shirt, and white sneaks are always in style.

From the Office to Happy Hour

Suit: Bonobos // Shirt: Twillory // Tie: Twillory

Socks: Paul Smith // Belt: Magnanni // Shoes: Magnanni

Sometimes you have to work, and sometimes you have to wear work clothes. That doesn’t mean you still can’t show off your St. Patrick’s Day spirit. With a mildly-toned shirt and some bold statement socks, I think this outfit transfers from the board room to the bar at Capital Grille with ease.

The best part about all three of these outfits is that they are viable for more than one day of the year. Maybe that doesn’t make them as special, but I think that makes them more versatile.

I really am the worst blogger. I spend so much time stressing over getting my Instagram posts up, and then I never tell you anything about what I’m wearing. It’s tough. I really struggle with fighting against the quick hit of a “like” or a “retweet” that I don’t put…

Autumn has given us quite the reprieve this year from bad weather, at least around here. But make no mistake, winter is coming. And with winter comes the need to protect your ankles, socks, and pants from cold rain, slush, snow, and ice. There is no better way to do that than with some quality boots.

Dressing with Style When It’s Cold Outside

Posted on January 16, 2018January 15, 2018

Fall. Fall is so easy for dressing with style. I pop on an extra layer, leave my jacket open, and let my layers trap just enough heat to keep me warm. But dressing with style when it’s cold outside? For me that’s a much more difficult challenge. When it’s freezing,…
