Sweet Comb Chicago Beard Products

Posted on December 3, 2015October 4, 2017 By Drew

No Shave November/Movember is over, and now you’re trying to figure out what to do with that abomination that’s been growing on your face.  I’ll be honest, I cashed in a little over a week ago.  There was more gray than I remember in my beard, a truth which didn’t thrill me.  I also missed my daily shave ritual too much.  But enough about me.  What are you going to do now?

The way I see it, you’ve, basically, got two options: trim that beard or moustache into something presentable at Christmas Dinner, or shave it off.  If you’re plan is the latter, take a look at our “Shave & Groom” section to peruse some wet shaving product reviews.  However, if you’re going to keep that facial hair, you need to take care of it.

This past No Shave November/Movember, I had the opportunity to test two fantastic beard care products from Sweet Comb Chicago, and, yes, they work for moustaches too!

Sweet Comb Chicago Beard Conditioner

I used this beard conditioner from day one.  Even with the most modest beginnings of scruff, this was a wonderful product.  From my prior forays in beard growth, I knew that I was prone to split and ingrown hairs, due to my coarse beard.  Sweet Comb Chicago’s beard conditioner, absolutely, minimized those occurrences.  I applied this conditioner daily, usually right after my shower.

Sweet Comb Chicago Beard Oil

Once my beard grew to a respectable length, maybe seven to ten days in, I began using this revitalizing beard oil at least once, but usually twice, a day.  I would try to give my beard a refresher application in the early afternoon.  I did this after lunch to avoid any beard oil-infused meals.  I would always coat my beard at night, too.  I did this after using my face wash and applying my moisturizer.

Beards, by their nature, tend to dry out just like any other hair.  They require maintenance, hydration, and grooming.  Movember doesn’t have to end just because November did.  Sweet Comb Chicago has some fantastic, natural products to help keep your facial hair in tip-top shape all winter long.

Regards,

Tailor & Barber

La Toja Shaving Stick Review

Posted on December 18, 2015October 4, 2017

La Toja Shaving Stick Review This is not the first time I’ve written about the La Toja Shaving Stick.  You can read that here.  Yet, I figured since I’ve been using this soap so much lately, the shaving soap deserved its own review. The first thing about the La Toja…

Barberry Coast EPIC Giveaway

Posted on May 11, 2015November 13, 2017

I don’t enter contests.  Let me rephrase that.  I don’t enter contests related to Tailor & Barber.  Entering contests, and potentially winning, doesn’t give me a strong stance of being impartial when writing my reviews.  Now, if a company wants to submit any of their products for review, that’s perfectly…

Lebelle Soaps “Spice Bombardier” Review

Posted on February 9, 2015October 4, 2017

I love supporting local businesses and local artisans.  My wife and I try to hit up some nearby open-air markets like the Clover Market and some of the events at Terrain whenever we can.  So, when I found out that Lebelle Soaps is located in Chester County, PA and all…
