Man plans and God laughs, right? Remember on Wednesday when I said I was ready to start cranking out the new content? Well, sometimes a sick wife, a sick dog, and exhausted children suffering through their first week of school take priority. Thursday morning really fell off the wheels when my wife got incredibly sick. I didn’t even get out of my gym clothes for a shower and a shave until 1:00 pm. But I figured I had to get something out, so here I am working on another shave of the day.
I have a Fall Essentials post that I’m about halfway through, and I thought I was going to get it out today, but I did not have the time to edit the graphics. That will definitely run Monday though, so be sure to check it out! I’m also putting together a review of the Penhaligon’s No. 33 skin care line. So look for that later next week.
Let’s talk a little about this shave. Soap Commander puts out one of the best one-two punches with their shaving soap and aftershave balm products. I really like the courage scent, and I hope to try some of their other scents in the future. My brush is from Beau Brummell for Men, another skin care line that I’m testing. It’s a black badger brush which is starting to break in nicely and is chewing through some of my shaving soaps. I may have to go back and test a few of my more “troublesome” soaps with this brush. And my fragrance is by Carthusia. It’s a smaller perfumery from Italy which I just discovered via some samples from C. O. Bigelow. I’m absolutely loving these samples! They strike a perfect balance between the French artistry and British refinement in fragrance.
