Normally I’m not a big fan of New Year’s Resolutions. I believe if you want to make a change, it’s better to simply start than to pick some arbitrary date and wait for it to arrive. However, I can appreciate the concept of having some sort of delineation between old behaviors and new. This year, though, I got myself into a pretty lazy rut over the holidays.
Gift Guide: For Her
Ok, this is the gift guide I’ve been putting off the longest. And as i’m writing it now, i can see why. Shopping for women is tough. It’s pretty easy for me to go through things that I would like to have for myself and package them up in gift guides for men and hit “publish”. But shopping for the women in my life? That’s where i run into trouble.
Gift Guide: The Formally Dressed Man
As with most things in life, when expressing your personal style by wearing a suit or jacket, the difference is in the details. For many men, any time you don a suit, you’re going to garner a few compliments. I think it is one of the pluses of living a society where suits are no longer considered normal, daily wear. Any suit shines as something special.
Gift Guide: The Casually Styled Man
I think adding some style to a casual outfit can be harder than to a dressier one. Throw on a suit, shirt, and some nice shoes and you’re already 90% of the way there. But jeans and a t-shirt can fall anywhere from disheveled slob to street style superstar.
Gift Guide: The Wet Shaving Man
Have you started Christmas shopping yet? Not me. I’m still working on ideas. I think most guys are still in the “idea” stage at this point. Or maybe you’re just leaving the gift-buying up to someone else this year. Starting today I’m going to give bring some help to your holiday shopping procrastination. I’m going to publish four gift guides this week. The initial goal is to obviously assist with the holiday shopping, but these are guides that can be used year-round whenever you need a little gift giving inspiration.
