I really am the worst blogger. I spend so much time stressing over getting my Instagram posts up, and then I never tell you anything about what I’m wearing. It’s tough. I really struggle with fighting against the quick hit of a “like” or a “retweet” that I don’t put enough effort into the one thing I can control, my website (this blog). The most successful bloggers I follow all have one thing in common: they focus primarily on their site before focusing on social media. The trouble is that social media is the best way to get the word out on one’s site, and without a following there, one will have limited readership here. It’s a tricky Catch-22.
So today, I’m going to go through three different outfits from recent Instagram posts and run through the details of each. Of course I don’t expect anyone to click through and buy everything I’m putting together here. That’s unrealistic and silly. This is meant to be a jumping off point for your own personal style journey. Someone once accused me in a comment here of trying to make everyone dress the same. That couldn’t be further from the truth. I have found (and am still working on) a style that suits me. I’ve found fits and proportions that work for my body. I’ve found colors that work with my complexion. I’ve found brands that are in my price range. I hope you will find those things that work for you too.
Dark Navy Suit
I’m obsessed with this dark navy suit. It’s made with hopsack wool from Hardy Minnis, and I used the Spier & Mackay Made-to-Order (MTO) program to have it made. I also took advantage of their free upgrade to full canvas promo at the time. I run hot through the year, and I’m pretty sure I can wear this suit into late fall and break it out again in early spring.

Tie: Brooks Brothers // Shoes: Allen Edmonds // Sunglasses: Ray-Ban
Bright Navy Suit
The suit gets so many compliments. It’s bright enough that it stands out, but navy enough that it’s not too flashy. I wasn’t able to link the exact suit, but I found one similar with wool from the same mill.

Weekend Casual
Sid Mashburn is quickly becoming one of my favorite brands. The clothes are high quality, the fit works very well for me, and the price (while a bit higher) matches the quality. This jacket and shirt were some of my first purchases, and I’ve already gone back for more.
