Fall Scenery

Indian Fashion, Happy Suits, and Chief Brody

Oh man. It’s been a minute since I ran a weekend reading  piece. I definitely need to get back into sharing these more often. I find so many articles throughout the week, and they just start to build up in my backlog to read and post. How do you keep everything you want to read online organized? I use Pocket. I tried Instapaper, but I found that I couldn’t organize as well as I could with Pocket, which also integrates really well with Feedly. I also recommend Feedly to read the Tailor & Barber RSS feed.

I know I’ve been saying it in just about every post on Instagram, but I am so ready for fall! Who’s with me? I’m sick of the heat and humidity. I have no problem wearing a my favorite polos and a pair of chinos, but I’m ready for a little more. I want some layers, some textures, so fall fragrances. And don’t worry, I have posts I’m working on for all those topics. I excited to share them with everyone. But for know I want to share some others’ work and a few of my favorite products right now.

This is an incredible story for the search and evolution of men’s fashion beyond Milan and Savile Row from Die, Workwear.

Are you just getting started in this men’s style game? Here’s a wonderful post from Gentleman’s Gazette on building your dress shirt collection.

The Brooks Brothers Wardrobe Event is almost here, and this sweater is on the top of my list.

If you’re like me, you’re been shaving with a brush and soap/cream for years. However, before you completely settle in on a routine, you might want to try these seven suggestions from Sharpologist.

A second post from Die, Workwear. This one has totally inspired me to break out my suits more often.

The perfect jeans don’t exi-

Not sure if you heard, but J. Crew is going through a major overhaul of it’s entire business. I’m more than a little concerned, and I’m not the only one.

Andy from Style after 50 is incredible inspiration for the sartorially inclined both under and over fifty. I so appreciated reading his story in He Spoke Style.

West Coast Shaving is offering free shipping in the US right now with no minimum purchase.

Since fall isn’t quite here yet (unfortunately). Here are nine suggestions from MR Porter to throw over your summer clothes.

One jacket style I really haven’t ventured into is the double-breasted, but when I do I’ll be sure to break a few rules per Permanent Style.

I love the specks of blue in these flannel trousers from Harvie & Hudson!

If I was pressed to declare my favorite movie, I would probably have to say Jaws. The Rake truly hit me in the sweet spot with this article.

Ever since the first time I saw Casablanca, I knew I wanted to go to Morocco. I always secretly wished that Rick’s Cafe really existed. For know I just have to live vicariously through Grace.

Weekend Reading: Sweaters, Shoe Shines, and Cigars

It has been a rough couple of weeks. Between getting ready for Christmas, having the kids home on break, and trying to keep the house as organized as possible, I haven’t had much time for anything else. By the time I got the kids in bed every night, all I…

Weekend Reading

Posted on May 21, 2016November 14, 2017

It’s been a pretty mild week. I watched a terrible movie. Soap Commander re-opened for business (Congrats!). It rained too much. I think the most exciting thing this week was that insane first lap of the Spanish Grand Prix! But other than that, not too much happened around here. I’m thankful for weeks like these. They’re few and far between, but usually much needed when they do arrive. We’re watching two family dogs this week, so that means five dogs total here, plus two kids, plus two adults. We needed an easy week to manage all that. It looks like this weekend is more of the same, so here’s a few things to get you started on a relaxing few days.

Weekend Reading April 10, 2015

Posted on April 11, 2015October 4, 2017

We’ve been dog-sitting this week, which means four dogs in the house and four dogs trying to jump in the bed all night, so I’ve been a little tired and a little slow this week.  He’s a good dog, so it’s easy to forgive, but I definitely didn’t get to…
