So I ran a poll today on Instagram regarding the way I provide product information about my outfits and shaves that I post. Lately, I’ve been using the LiketoKnow.it platform, which, until recently, would deliver an email with all the products linked if you “liked” that post. Unfortunately, now you have to sign up, download an app, and shop through their app. This seems a bit cumbersome. Well, easy for me, cumbersome for you (the opposite of the way it should be). I’m the writer, blogger, whatever. It’s my job to get the information to you, not your job to go find it. But I digress. The results of the poll showed me that the majority of people interested in the products in my posts would like me to post that information directly on the blog. So that’s what I’m going to do.
Going forward, I’m going to do my best to write up a little something about each post and run it the next morning. If you can’t wait, and have to know immediately, you always head over to the “Shop the Feed” page and get all the details right away.

Today wasn’t anything special, I just felt like wearing a jacket and something besides jeans. And you know what? I’m going to do it more often. The majority of my day was spent going to the grocery store and cooking dinner for the family, so there was really no need to get dressed up, but it felt great.
Initially, as I was walking through the aisles of Whole Foods, I noticed myself getting self-conscious, worrying that people would think I was weird for wearing a sport coat when I had no need to. In this era of athleisure and performance fabrics, sports coats can seem a little fancy for an afternoon at the grocery store. Then, it dawned on me. They have no idea I don’t need to be wearing this (In reality, they probably weren’t even looking at me). But in my head, this is how I felt. All of a sudden, I felt a little special, and I liked it. I wanted more of it.
Sure, chinos and a navy jacket aren’t an earth shattering combination, but, when done right, with the right fit and proportions it blows a pair of jeans and a button-down out of the water stylistically.
I think if I had to do anything over again with this outfit, I would add a tie or a pocket square. Probably a tie, because I think the shirt would work better with it. The collar seems built for a tie. I guess there’s always tomorrow.
