Hey! Where have you been?

Posted on March 31, 2018March 30, 2018 By Drew

Happy Easter! Happy Passover! Happy whatever you’re celebrating this weekend! Weekend reading is back! I’ve been spending so much time marketing the blog (Instagram, Twitter, etc.) that I’ve lost track of actually writing the blog. Some days I’ll get home from the gym, get the kids off to school, see what’s going on in the world, and get completely sucked into the day. I’ll run out of mental energy before I even get a single word drafted. Other days, or weeks like this one with school on break, I barely have time for anything. It’s a challenge just to get a picture posted.

The truth of the matter is that I need to push through that crap and just get writing. Sure some days that won’t happen until 8:30 at night. Which may not seem that late, but considering I get up at 4:30 to hit the gym, I’m usually winding down by then. But I can’t let that stop me. I follow some of these “hustle” guys on Instagram, like Gary V. or Lewis Howes, and I know my persistence doesn’t come close to what those guys have. I need to start exercising that hustle muscle.

I guess what I’m trying to say here is that I’m sure you guys have noticed that I haven’t been writing as much, and (as much as the blogger gurus say not to) I want to apologize. I want to write more, share more, create more, and engage more. Maybe it’s a short post or an Instagram recap or just some random thoughts on something that’s been bothering me (like this post apparently), but I know a lot of you follow me and I’m so thankful for that. I don’t want to leave you hanging.

So here’s my commitment to creating more. I’ll hope you’re stick with me to see where this goes.

Now that that’s out of the way, I haven’t stopped collecting articles and stimulating content from across the web, so I’m finally getting around to sharing them. There are some pretty great posts here on screenwriting, teaching your sons to shave, and tailoring. I’d love to know which ones you liked best. Let me know!

Would you ever go see a movie by yourself?

My son is only five, but I’ve absolutely already thought about when and how I’m going to teach him to shave.

I’m completely obsessed with this summer sweater.

Soft shoulders are all the rage right now, but I really enjoyed this article on tailoring’s more structure approach.

Can you do all 70? I know I need to read more.

These Clubmaster-inspired sunglasses are fantastic.

This is an older post, but a great review on the three types of jackets.

I love wrestling. I love screenwriting. I love this article.

I like my prints in small doses. These sneaks are just enough camo for me.

Wall Street has always been one of my favorite movies. The Rake’s breakdown of Gordon Gekko’s wardrobe is inspiring.

Don’t miss out on one of my all time favorite shaving soap scents. It’s almost gone!

Speaking of the wardrobes of leading men, have you ever watched a movie and wondered what that actor was wearing? Here’s a few key selections from some serious icons.

Looking for a new spring/summer scent? Get it from one of the oldest fragrances houses.

If David Coggins writes it, I’ll read it. If David Coggins reads it, I’ll probably read it too.

Man, summer is almost in full swing around here. The kids only have two weeks left of school. We’re in the 80s almost every day now. Traffic has been cut in half. One of the advantages (and disadvantages of living so close to the shore) is that after Memorial Day…

Weekend Reading: From FIFA to Facemasks

Posted on May 30, 2015October 4, 2017

I have to admit, the Internet seems to have slowed down a bit following Memorial Day.  I guess vacation season has started, and not as many pieces are out there.  What I was seeing on my feedly feed wasn’t as interesting (for the most part) as weeks past.  But don’t…

Weekend Reading

Posted on April 16, 2016October 4, 2017

Man, it’s been a rough couple of weeks. Between spring break, Easter, my son’s 4th birthday, a family-wide stomach virus, and a 3-day juice cleanse, I’ve been running on empty for a while. I needed a few weeks to recharge and focus on some jobs around the house. We hung some new art, cleaned off my wife’s desk (it was horrendous!), and cleared out a ton of old kids’ clothes and toys. I feel like I’m finally getting back on track here.
