Ok, so how was everyone’s first full week back to reality? This one was a shock to the whole family around here, as it was the first full week back to school after several weeks off. I felt like I had SO MUCH free time to get things done around the house. We got the Christmas tree down, put away (and organized!) all the ornaments and decorations, and cleaned the kids’ rooms. I mean like really cleaned. Like everything in its place clean. Like blankets washed and folded and put away clean. It was very liberating.
Our goal around here is to spend 2019 cleaning and organizing the house, getting it to a state where we don’t feel boxed in by everything we have going on. Obviously, we’re inspired by Marie Kondo and her new Netflix show, but it’s also just about aiming for a higher quality of life. I can’t explain what it feels like to have every room in the house exist in a state that’s overwhelming. I want a house where I want to go into every room, not avoid them. It’s hard though. Every time we feel like we get a little momentum, something comes up knocking us back or requiring our attention. The real challenge is having the energy to get started again, over and over. But this is the challenge in everything really, isn’t it? It’s probably the reason why I write in spurts too.
Anyway, enough about cleaning my house. I’m sure that’s that’s not the content you come here for. Maybe it is, haha! I don’t study my analytics enough to know. Well, here’s this weeks selection of articles and products I’m most excited by. Hope you enjoy!
What are your preferred shirts? Mine are a mix of blues and stripes.
Speaking of blue dress shirts…
Glad to see bread making a comeback!
I loved Grace’s honestly and vulnerability here. A must read.
The more I use this product, the more I am convinced it’s the best post shave product I own.
Steph has some amazing tips for new bloggers here!
For so long I bought clothes without putting any thought into how I was building across my wardrobe as a whole. Hugo has me set in the right mindset now.
This will break in nicely!
I love a good cigar, but in the winter it’s too cold to sit outside during a long smoke. Here’s some great shorter cigars to get a quicker smoke in.
Ya, I’ll be making this real soon!
I already own two of these, and I’ll be buying more to wear all spring, summer, and early fall too.
Yikes! Ten suits? I better start building that wardrobe.
It’s not too early to start thinking about a summer suit either.
In this blue and gray world, brown is a great way to stand out while still looking pulled together.
Carly’s organization tips should help me get more done around the house this year.
