April Instagram Round-Up

Posted on April 20, 2017October 4, 2017 By Drew

In the past week and a half I’ve post five different outfit on Instagram, while not writing too many posts. I did, however, get a few questions on what some of the clothes I was wearing were and where to buy them. So I thought it might be a good idea to run through those pictures and provide that requested information.

I’m still struggling with the finding the best way to give the details on things I post. Maybe a blog post on every picture? Perhaps posting everything on my ShopStyle store? Could I tweet out the details after each post? I want to keep it as simple and easy as possible. If you have any suggestions on how you would like to shop, please let me know in the comments below.

The weather around here has been pretty insane for the past month or so. It ranged from a freak nor’easter with around eight inches of snow to day in the seventies and eighties, almost back to back. What’s great about this is that my Instagram post provide a nice cross-section of spring weather clothes.

Cold But Dry

I love the collar on this shirt. It sits higher than some of my other shirts, and brings a European charm to an outfit like this. Off-white denim is a great way to stay comfortable while adding a slight sophistication.

Jeans: J. Crew  //  Shoes: Salvatore Ferragamo

Cold And Raining

A “Mac” is a must-have piece of clothing for any guy’s wardrobe. Generally more casual than a double-breasted trench coat, a Mackintosh is perfect for staying dry and informal. Another necessity for wet weather is a pair of solid, rain-defending shoes.

Shirt: Brooks Brothers  //  Sweater: J. Crew

Mackintosh: T. M.  Lewin  //  Jeans: J. Crew  //  Shoes: Herring Shoes

Cool And Casual

Denim is a must for me when it’s cool out. I mean, to be honest, denim is a must for me all year, but especially on cooler days. On those days when my core temperature drop any time I’m not in direct sunlight, jeans keep the chills away until the next cloud passes.

Shirt: Lacoste  //  Belt: Brooks Brothers (no longer available)

Jeans: J. Crew  //  Shoes: New Balance

Hot and Casual

I love these linen-cotton chinos! I picked them up on a whim during a J. Crew sale, and I regret nothing. They’re comfortable, the fit is right, they breathe. I’ll be wearing these all summer long.

Shirt: Lacoste

Pants: J. Crew  //  Shoes: Salvatore Ferragamo

Easter Sunday

I’ve had this jacket altered several times now, and it looks like I might have to let it out again. But a classic blue blazer is one of the most important pieces of clothing an guy can own. I would suggest that it is second in its importance after only a charcoal suit.

Shirt: Brooks Brothers  //  Blazer: Vineyard Vines

Pants: Brooks Brothers  //  Shoes: Salvatore Ferragamo (wow, I’ve been wearing these a lot!)

I Was the Dorky, New Kid in Sixth Grade

I Was the Dorky, New Kid in Sixth Grade When I was in middle school, my family moved to a new city. This would be my first of several “new kid” experiences in the coming years, and I would absolutely learn from my errors in judgment.  I’ve probably taken it…

Why I Hate Stretch Fabric

Posted on November 17, 2023November 15, 2023

If you follow this blog on any social media channels, you have probably seen some rantings against stretch or performance fabrics. I thought I might take some time to explain why I hate these fabrics so much. These days synthetic fabrics seem to be everywhere. Stretch, moisture-wicking, non-iron, wrinkle-resistant, performance…

Three St. Patrick’s Day Outfit Options

Posted on March 11, 2016November 14, 2017

By this time next week, many of you will be dragging yourselves through one of the most hangover heavy days of the year, the day after St. Patrick’s Day. Of course, if you have kids like me, going out for a night of heavy drinking during the week (or any night for that matter) is usually a poor decision. Managing active little people while struggling to keep your eyes focused is one of the most unpleasant things I’ve discovered as a parent. But I digress…
