Weekend Reading

I know, I know. It’s been a hot minute since I posted anything, but I do have a few things in the works for next week. I’m hoping to get back to the consistency I had last year with posts and reviews. Life always seem to be crazy, and I can’t continue to use that as an excuse to not write. I think it’s tough to write a blog day in and day out with little to no feedback from the majority of your audience. I didn’t realize that would be a challenge I would face when I started writing this blog. (I’ve also recently been sucked into the eternal political black hole that is Twitter). I’m also not saying that I need more feedback from any readers. I just need to do a better job of writing for the sake of writing and find self-appreciation what I do. (Of course a share or a retweet or comment wouldn’t hurt either) Anyway, I pulled together some extra links this week, including a few quality Memorial Day sales. I love this take on using your building block clothes repeatedly. Justin Trudeau is…

Weekend Reading

It is pouring today. I mean it’s one of those drenching days where the rain started before I was awake and won’t stop until after I go to bed. I’m always so unproductive on days like these. I get so sluggish and lazy. Even writing this post is tough. I keep looking out the window, checking Twitter, getting a snack (that I don’t need to be eating), etc. I even worked out this morning and everything. That usually gives me a boost of energy. But my focus is just lacking today. Of course being self-employed doesn’t help. I don’t a boss to direct me or the possibility of losing my job to motivate me. So how do I push through? I don’t. I lean into it. Small spurts of work peppered with minor distractions. Eventually, the work sessions lengthen and the breaks dwindle as I find my words. Another good idea is to share a bunch of links of other people’s work. People who were able to push through their work to create some really great content which I hope you enjoy! There were two fantastic articles on Sharpologist this month…

Weekend Reading

I’m getting my weekend reading out a little late today. Actually, this is sort of like the third of a four-day weekend for me. Both kids were off on Thursday and Friday for teacher events, so I’ve been on “dad duty” for the last seventy-two hours. Getting a few hours this morning to work on some writing is a much-welcomed break. Yes, I’m writing this on Saturday morning…

Weekend Reading

I haven’t written a Weekend Reading post in over a month, and it’s really something I want to get back into the habit of doing. I think they’re a great quick-hit way of passing on some great articles that I’ve found as well and sharing some of my favorite clothing and grooming products of the week…

Weekend Reading

What a week. What a f@#king week! I think just about everyone is ready for a weekend right about now. I’ve been watching news and reading twitter way too much for my own good. With so much negativity being put into the world, I need to take a step back and find some things to boost my spirits instead of inundating myself with a cacophony of hot takes, tweets, and television talk shows. That’s why this Weekend Reading post will not include a single political story. This post is meant to be a break for me, and a break for you. Poor Max, but Robbie played it off well. Loving this double monk on sale! One of the things I love about traditional wet shaving is the cost. But here are some great products if you’re looking to save even more. This has been my moisturizer of choice lately. No oil, no shine. Love it! I may not be able to afford any Cucinelli, but I can certainly appreciate and adopt some of these style tips. Yep. Gonna need these. Two great posts on what dressing up means today. One from He Spoke Style, and one…

Weekend Reading

Fall arrived with a vengeance this week. After a few days of temps in the 70s and 80s, a storm rolled through last night bringing those 40s and 50s we’re so used to during this time of year. Don’t get me wrong, I love the extended warm weather, but I’ve been getting ancy to wear some of my fall and winter clothes. I mean, in the last two weeks I’ve written posts on both puffer vests and cable knit sweaters. Now, I’m happy to have some weather to go along with those looks. (By the way, if you haven’t read those posts yet, go check them out.) I’m also pretty excited for this weekend because it’s the United States Grand Prix. And for the first time in decades there is a US-based team in the field. Now, I don’t expect Haas to win the race, but it’s certainly nice to have a ”home team” to cheer for. I bet it’s pretty exciting for the team to have a home race too. If you are planning on watching the race, just remember it’s airing on NBC as…
