Outfit of the Day November 13, 2017

So I’m going to try something new. It seem like people would appreciate it I posted the details of my Instagram Outfits of the Day and Shaves of the Day directly on the blog. I think this sounds like a great idea, and I’m going to do it as much as I can. I think the best way to do this is to run a blog post the next morning following the Instagram post. If you can’t wait for the next day’s post, you can always shop the feed directly through Instagram or on the website right here. Keep in mind too, that while Movember is running, I obviously won’t be posting any Shave of the Day pictures. The beard is coming in nicely, and I kind of like it. I do plan on getting back to the shaving posts and reviews, but not for a few more weeks. I’d also love to get some feedback on how these posts are going. Feel free to drop me a line or drop a comment on the blog. Monday’s outfit was one built to beat the cold and…

OOTD: What I Wore for St. Patrick’s Day

I had a great St. Patrick’s Day post planned for last week that was completely thrown off by Stella. The kids were home for days on end, and I just wasn’t able to get it pulled together. I probably should have. I’m still struggling with getting out as many posts as I’d like. But I guess this is all part of the writing process. What I can do is take a look at what I wore on St. Patrick’s Day and share that with you…

Outfit of the Day: August 29, 2016

Well, summer is almost over. One of the things I love most about summer is that I think coworkers, friends, even people in general are a little more forgiving of casual or experimental dress. No one seems to care as much. They’re just trying to relax too! Even summer weddings are bit more relaxed (i.e. khaki suits, seersucker, etc.) Well, this week I’m definitely stepping out of my fashion comfort zone. But I figure, with one week left before Labor Day, now is my last chance to take a few risks. I’ve never been a sneakers with a suit kind of guy, but these New Balances are owning my life right now. Seriously. I might have to pick up a second pair because I’m afraid I’m going to wear through these. I do my best to not wear them two days in a row, but sometimes I can’t help myself. (While I’m on the subject, do you rotate your shoes? You should, especially leather shoes. Leather needs to breath. It needs to rest. I needs to dry from having your sweaty feet stuck in it all day. Remember, as much as we…

Outfit of the Day: August 12, 2016

Did you ever have one of those days that just stalled from the get-go? I really wanted to get this outfit inspiration out yesterday, but things went off the rails quickly. My son wasn’t feeling well, our house cleaners showed up several hours late, and I just couldn’t seem to get the day started. What I kept trying to remind myself was that I wasn’t dealing with any REAL problems, just a tummy ache and a scheduling mistake. There are many more serious problems in the world today, and if I can remind myself of that, those issues sort of fade away. I have to say I’m loving these New Balance sneakers from J. Crew. I’ve always been a fan of the canvas Jack Purcells, but the leather is a little nicer and the gum sole is a fantastic touch. If you haven’t seen Mr. Porter’s video on keeping your white sneakers white, make sure you check it out here. Chinos: Bonobos  //  Shoes: New Balance for J. Outfit of the Day: July 23, 2016

This outfit all about having an easy weekend and jotting down some new ideas for blog posts. My writing usually starts with some simple brainstorming. I try not to judge any ideas until I’ve  emptied my brain into a notebook or Evernote (I haven’t decided yet which one I like more). I love these shorts so much! They are the perfect mix of comfort and style. I already had two pairs, and I just ordered two more. I really wish I could wear them every day. Shorts: J. Outfit of the Day: July 20, 2016

I’ve really been trying to step up my posts. Even if it’s just a quick outfit or shave of the day post, I want to put out as much inspiration as possible. This outfit may be a little warm for summer days, but it’s perfect for a summer dinner date. I love the weight of this blazer because it’s the perfect weight to work spring, summer, and fall. It could even work in the winter with a thinner sweater underneath for some added warmth. I also love the fact that the buttons are navy, not gold. I have nothing against gold buttons, but when wearing a blazer with jeans, I want the details to be a little rougher. They should match the texture of the jeans closer. These navy buttons do just that. And speaking of these jeans, have I mentioned before that I think are the best value in denim right? I’m sure I have. From the fabric, to the fit, to the price, I have yet to find a better pair. I now own four different pairs of these jeans from J. Crew. One more quick comment. Did you know Twillory sells…

Outfit of the Day: July 13, 2016

I started yesterday posting my “Shave of the Day” and “Outfit of the Day” pictures on the blog, in addition to my normal social media posts. I think a lot of people get the majority of their recommendations/ideas by me directly from the blog. I hope this becomes a continued resource from Tailor & Barber that people can utilize over time.
